OUR STORY
Welcome to Café Auberge — a stylish family run French bistro set within a beautifully renovated 1866 Inn, complete with its original restored listed bar in the heart of the Scottish Borders. We take pride in serving high-quality French and European cuisine, thoughtfully created using the finest locally sourced ingredients.
Whether you’re joining us for a relaxed brunch after a morning walk, a light lunch, handcrafted cocktails with friends, or an indulgent dinner paired with a carefully selected wine, we have you covered throughout the day. Alongside our à la carte menu and daily specials available all week, we also serve our popular Sunday Roast specials with all the trimmings every Sunday.
We also offer a dog-friendly dining area during breakfast and lunch service from 10am–4pm. Booking is highly recommended as this area can get very busy.
We are happy to cater for a wide range of dietary requirements, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options, with many dishes adaptable where possible.
Please inform your server before ordering if you have any allergies, intolerances or specific dietary requirements. Allergen information relating to the 14 legally declarable allergens is available on request.
Please also advise us of any additional sensitivities, including sensitivities to oils derived from genetically modified crops such as soybean, rapeseed/canola and corn.
Whilst every care is taken during preparation, all food is prepared in kitchens where allergens are present and cross-contamination may occur. As such, we cannot guarantee that any dish is completely free from allergens.
Our chefs will always try to accommodate bespoke requests where reasonably possible.
For larger gatherings, we have several beautiful spaces available for exclusive group bookings, with specially designed set menus for breakfast events, coffee mornings, lunches and dinners. Exclusive venue hire is also available for private events and celebrations. Terms & Conditions apply.
A deposit is required for group bookings of 12 guests or more, redeemable against your final bill.

OUR DRINKS
Good food deserves good drinks and in our beautiful 1866 listed bar we’ve made sure there’s plenty to choose from.
Whether you’re joining us for coffee and cake, cocktails at golden hour or drinks into the evening, our menu is built around quality ingredients, local character and great atmosphere. Our drinks offering blends modern classics with local favourites, creating a menu designed for every mood and occasion.
Enjoy handcrafted cocktails using fresh ingredients, carefully selected fine wines, beers and ciders, with Madri Lager and Alpacalypse Session IPA available on draught and local spirits to favourites from around the world. We also serve locally sourced speciality coffee from family run Three Hills Coffee which is freshly roasted every week just up the road in Gordon and our range of loose leaf teas from Edinburgh based tea producers Shibui. We make our hot chocolates using real Belgian chocolate and have a great range of cold soft drinks including free refills on all our draught soft drinks.
If there's a cocktail you fancy and it’s not on the menu just ask the team and we will make it for you if we have the ingredients.
